Meccha Chameleon — Update History
Every major patch note, balance change, and milestone from launch to the June 21, 2026 source check.
v1.5.1 — June 20, 2026
Fix: Found Players No Longer Reappear
Already-found players should no longer reappear during the active search phase. This matters for match clarity because seekers can trust the current hide state instead of chasing stale silhouettes.
Fix: Failed Map Loads No Longer Become Eliminations
Seekers who fail to load a map should no longer clip through it and eliminate players. Treat this as a stability patch, not a strategy patch.
v1.5.0 — June 20, 2026
Hidden Player Likes Added
During answer reveal, players can press Like for hidden players once per match, and the Like count is saved permanently. Great camouflage now has a visible social reward loop.
Movement Tightened Around Missed Points
Players can no longer obtain missed points while moving. If you want the points, commit to the hiding choice instead of drifting after the reveal.
Reveal Colors Clarified
Answer reveal emission colors changed: undiscovered players use red and discovered players use blue. This makes review moments easier to read in clips and group play.
5 Million Copies — June 19, 2026
Meccha Chameleon passed 5 million copies in sales. The developer also said a new official map and new game options will be added in the near future.
Practical takeaway: keep an eye on map pages and update notes, because fresh official content can create new search demand and new hiding-route demand quickly.
v1.3.1 — June 16, 2026
Major: Proximity Voice Chat
Voice chat now uses 3D proximity. Whisper to teammates nearby. Taunt seekers when they're close. Hear enemies breathing around the corner. Game-changer for social play.
Balance: Seeker FOV Adjusted
Hunter field of view increased from 90 to 100. Makes scanning rooms slightly easier but doesn't break camouflage. Response to community feedback that seekers felt too weak in large maps.
Map: Penguin Hotel Tweaks
Fixed collision issues in the kitchen area. Adjusted lighting in the lobby for more consistent hiding. Removed an unintended hiding spot inside the elevator shaft.
Workshop: Map Ratings
Workshop map browser now supports star ratings. Sort by top-rated, most played, or newest. Community curation is finally here.
Bug fixes: Wallclip exploit on Backrooms map fixed. Audio desync in Infection mode resolved. UI scaling for 4K displays improved.
v1.3.0 — June 15, 2026
New Mode: Double Trouble
Experimental 2v2 mode. Two hiders, two seekers — smaller, more intense matches. Perfect for streamers and small friend groups.
Quality of Life
Color picker now remembers your last 8 used colors. Added paint opacity slider for translucent blending. Undo/redo added to paint tool (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y).
Performance: Optimized rendering for maps with many players. Reduced memory usage by ~15%.
v1.2.0 — June 14, 2026
New Map: Penguin Hotel
Luxury hotel setting with luggage carts, checkered floors, industrial kitchen, duck-themed bedrooms, and detailed wallpaper corridors. 6+ unique hiding spots.
Steam Workshop Support
Community map creation is live. Browse, subscribe, and play custom maps. Built-in map editor for creators. Hundreds of maps uploaded in the first 24 hours.
v1.1.0 — June 12, 2026
Matchmaking Improvements
Regional server selection added. Ping display in lobby. Quick-join feature for finding open lobbies faster.
New Pose System
Added 4 new poses: Crouch Hide, Wall Lean, Ceiling Hang, and Object Hug. More natural-looking hiding positions.
v1.0.3 — June 11, 2026 (Hotfix)
